“Safety First!” DL E&C Conducts Safety Training for New Employees
DL E&C new employees receive safety training at the Safety Experience School.

DL E&C said on the 9th that they are conducting safety training for new employees who joined DL E&C this year. The training is conducted at the Safety Experience School within DL Daedeok Research Institute located in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. DL E&C aims to inspire safety consciousness among new employees through systematized training from the introductory course.

New employees will experience fall and reversal (knocking down) situations that frequently occur in construction sites for two days and one night. They will also practice wearing various types of safety equipment such as safety belts, safety helmets, safety shoes, and descending life lines and how to use them. The new employees can learn response capabilities during crises through the practice of fire suppression, rescue methods upon an accident occurrence, and CRP and first aid measures.

The safety training was planned to foster safety consciousness and response capabilities during crises among non-construction sites’ new employees as well as new employees to be assigned to construction sites. The new employees, who were assigned to worksite operations, are completing the safety training to enhance understanding of and adaptability to the construction business in diverse construction sites nationwide.

The Safety Experience School consists of a total of 21 training and experience facilities. Various temporary installations and facilities actually used in construction sites including heavy construction equipment are prepared at the school. The school is also equipped with equipment and contents through which trainees can experience five high-risk works in construction sites: high-place work, lifting heavy objects with equipment, digging (excavating), electric work, and firefighting with VR.

In addition, smart safety system-introducing programs combined with the Fourth Industry including state-of-the-art IoT, drones, big data, AI, and wearable equipment are in place. The trainees can learn matters to check before starting work and safe operation methods through experiences by adding high-place workbenches used in construction sites.
