DL E&C will propel technology development to supply healthy water to apartments alongside Coway, Korea’s top water purifier company. On the 27th, DL E&C announced that the company signed an MOU on co-research and development for a household water treatment system along with Coway.  Having been planning to develop a household water treatment system that aims to supply the healthiest water in Korea to apartments, DL E&C is collaborating with Coway. 
 
DL E&C Housing Technology Development Executive Choi Young-rak and Coway Corporation Business Director Park Jun-hyun and others attended the MOU signing ceremony held at the DL E&C head office in D Tower in Donuimun, Jongro-gu, Seoul on the 26th.   
Distrust and anxiety on tap water are increasing nowadays among consumers due to tap water larvae and reddish tap water incidents, so filter sales for the shower system and faucets are soaring.   
 
DL E&C is currently developing a technology to supply healthy water through a two-step water treatment system ranging from central water treatment to household water treatment within apartments to resolve the problems above. 
 
The household water treatment system currently developed between DL E&C and Coway is equipped with specialized filters to remove pollutants, micro floating matters, rusty water, and larvae within pipes. It aims to install Coway’s POE (point of entry) filters at the apartment’s common use sector and to supply cleaner, safer residential water. 
 
The filters installed in the household water system need not be replaced for 12 months based on a four-member household. High customer satisfaction is expected, because filter cleaning and replacement can be offered through outdoor contactless service. 
 
DL E&C planned to complete the household water treatment system development together with Coway within this year, and it has conducted review to apply the system to new households in the near future. The company is propelling the improvement of the central water treatment system filtering performance, a pre-step of the household water treatment system, and specialized maintenance in collaboration with a commercial water treatment system company. 
 
 “The water treatment system development is part of our efforts to provide the cleanest and healthy haven in the air, water, and sound environments alongside anti-virus air-purifying environment equipment and technology to reduce noise between floors. We will continuously endeavor to supply the healthiest water to apartments,” DL E&C Housing Technology Development Executive Choi said. 
 
According to Coway Corporation Business Director Park, the collaboration will be a good opportunity for both companies in a situation where the water treatment demand of apartments is growing. “We will adequately use the support and technology of Coway,” he added.
