The final completion inspection of Busan New Port (Containers) 2-5 phase was completed on July 17. The 2-5 phase construction is part of the Busan New Port development project aiming at making Korea a Northeast Asian logistics hub. It involves building the inner walls of the port and installing 22 caissons. Construction kicked off on August 31, 2012, and phase 5 construction was safely completed within 83 months.

Daelim has been continuously participating in the Busan New Port development project for 20 years, starting with the temporary dike construction in the Busan New Port Woongdong hinterland in 2000. The construction done by Daelim for the Busan New Port (Containers) project involves shaping the CY site to store containers before and after loading and installing 3 caissons, including removing the Busan New Port’s “Todo Island,” a small earth and stone island at the entrance of the Busan New Port.
