Daelim Signs Voluntary Agreement to Cope with High-Concentration Fine Dust

Construction companies’ CEOs pose for a commemorative photograph after signing the agreement

Daelim signed a voluntary Agreement to Cope with High-Concentration Fine Dust with the Ministry of Environment at the Korea Press Center on Jan. 30. The agreement is meaningful since the construction companies devised a concrete participation measure by creating an atmosphere that encourages fine dust reduction before the execution of the Special Act on Fine Dust Reduction and Management. A total of 11 construction companies including Daelim, Samsung CNT, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Daewoo E&C, and GS E&C joined the agreement.

The consenting sites execute voluntary fine dust discharge reduction actions if a high-concentration fine dust emergency reduction action is issued. They plan to take active action to reduce fine dust including adjustment and reduction of construction process period such as bed excavation and foundation work, regular assignment of environmental personnel, and restriction of use of worn-out construction machinery for which no measure can be taken to reduce air pollution.
