into Cultural and Sport Facilities

Olympic opening and closing ceremony arena transformed into cultural and sports facilities

The opening and closing ceremony arena of the Pyeongchang Olympics, where the start and end of the Olympics in February this year were announced, was recreated as a space for citizens’ cultural and sports activities. The building and surrounding site of the Pyeongchang Olympics Plaza opening and closing arena utilized as Olympic stadium was remodeled on November 6 by Daelim, and use approval was received from the client.

The stadium was transformed into lawn stands used for a multi-functional event arena, with the remodeled box seat building to be used as an Olympic commemorative center. The field track and football stadium, which existed before this project, were also restored. The opening and closing ceremony arena considered the use after the Olympics from the design phase. Daelim minimized the scrapped resources through recyclable materials use, assembly construction method, and chair rental mode.
