The North Seawall Section 1 Site of the 3-Phase Donghae Port project completed the installation of caisson in the 40m-deep water, the deepest in Korean waters, on October 14. This is the first caisson in the site, with height of 25m and weight of 8,500 tons. During the construction period, a total of 30 caissons are scheduled to be installed. Considering the deep sea and rough waves surrounding Donghae Port, Daelim applied a mixed seawall type wherein reinforced concrete structure, caisson, is erected on the rubble mound.

The 3-phase Donghae Port North Seawall construction is part of the 3-phase Donghae Port development project of constructing a new wharf on the perimeter to reduce the demurrage rate (rate of ships waiting among the ships to enter a port), and the project involves building a 1,700m seawall. Daelim is performing construction of the 700m long section 1. Construction was started in May 2016 (current construction rate is 40%) and is slated to be completed in July 2020.
