Daelim posts KRW 10 trillion in sales in 2012

Daelim posted KRW 10.2533 trillion in consolidated annual sales (based on IFRS) in 2012, up 28% or KRW 265.2 billion compared to the previous year; thus joining the KRW 10 trillion sales club for the first time in Korea. Thanks to such sales increase, Daelim’s consolidated operating income (based on IFRS) rose 12% to KRW 489.3 billion. The company’s profitability showed solid growth.

The reason sales surged is that large-scale plant businesses, including Saudi Arabia’s Showaiba 2 combined cycle power plant and Philippines’ refinery, Petron, which were ordered in 2011, were reflected on the company’s sales. Daelim’s Petrochemical Business Division led sales growth by posting KRW 1.3041 trillion in sales, up 11% compared to 2011 thanks to the sales boost from high-margin specialized products such as polybutene.

Daelim plans to strengthen fundamental competitiveness through the improvement of corporate structure, bolster its unique global capabilities, and respond to changes in the domestic and international environments proactively.
