Daelim-led consortium wins project to build Taean Thermal Power Plant Units 9 and 10

A consortium mainly consisting of Daelim and Samho won a civil engineering and construction project to build Taean Thermal Power Plant Units 9 and 10 ordered by Korea Western Power based on the lowest price bid on July 9. The successful bid amount was KRW 191.7 billion (including VAT), and the stakes of Daelim and Samho were 50% (KRW 95.8 billion) and 10% (KRW 19.1 billion), respectively.

Units 9 and 10 will be the largest coal-fired thermal power plant to be built on the site of the Taean Thermal Power Plant HQ with capacity of 1000MW each. In February 2012, the Construction Business Division signed a KRW 326.5 billion contract to supply boilers for units 9 and 10 with Korea Western Power. The site is located in Bang Gil-ri, Wonbuk-myeon, Taean-gun, Chungnam, and construction is scheduled to be finished by December 31, 2016.
