Construction of 571 unit completed at Saudi’s JER site; here,
20 million safe man-hours were achieved

Among the 14 major facilities at Saudi’s JER construction site, the 571 unit was completed first on July 14 (Sat.). The formal name of the 571 Unit is “Fuel Gas System,” which will collect byproduct gases from plant facilities and resupply them as fuel.

In addition, the JER site has achieved 20 million safe man-hours on June 30, 2012 since construction began in July 2009. For this, the JER site received a formal appreciation letter from the client, SATORP (Saudi Aramco Total Refining & Petrol Company). To celebrate such milestone, construction site employees and employees of the client and partner firms held a “20 Million Safe Man-hours Commemorative Event” at the site.

At the Saudi JER site, construction to build acid gas and sulfur recovery facilities at the Saudi Aramco oil refinery in Jubayl, Saudi Arabia is underway and is expected to be completed in February 2013.

* Safe man-hours: These indicate the period during which no accident occurred considering the inputted manpower and time. The 20 million safe man-hours mean that there was no accident for 10,000 hours at a construction site where 2,000 men were inputted.
