Receiving an Order for the Construction of Power Plants in Saudi Arabia

The Plant Business Division of Daelim Industrial received the NOA (Notice of Award) for the power plant construction project worth USD1.22 billion in Saudi Arabia on October 15, and the formal contract will be concluded on October 29.

This project, which was ordered from SEC (Saudi Electricity Company), is to build power plants in coastal area one hundred kilo meters southeast of Jeaddah, Saudi Arabia. Upon the completion, the power plants are expected to contribute to the solution of electric power shortage in the western area by supplying electric power of approximately 1,200MW.

This is the first EPC lump-sum turnkey project in Saudi Arabia for Daelim’s power plant business division. According to the contract, Daelim will conduct whole processes of basic and detailed design & engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.

Daelim expects that this achievement will contribute to the expansion of overseas power plant construction competitiveness by playing a role in gaining momentum for power plant projects.
