Reached 5 Million Safe Man-hours at Chlor Vinyl Site in Saudi Arabia



The Chlor Vinyl site in Saudi Arabia of Daelim Industrial’s plant business division achieved 5 million safe man-hours on September 7 and held a celebration for the success with presidents of the project owner and major officials familiar with the project on September 13.

This project which was ordered from Arabian Chlor Vinyl Company, a joint venture established by Sahara (50%) and Ma'aden (50%), started in August 2010. It is under construction on the chemical complex in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia, and will produce chlor alkali of 250,000 MTY and ethylene dichloride of 300,000 MTY upon the completion.

This project had been promoted by early works contract on March 3, 2010, which was improved into an EPC contract as of May 3, 2011. The construction period is 33 months and is scheduled to complete on December 2, 2012.
