- Integrated the site-specific CCTV Viewer System to improve control efficiency
- Integrated all video data to enable quick search and sharing
- Expanded hiring of CCTV control personnel to minimize safety blind spots

DL E&C announced on November 07 that it has built an integrated CCTV control system, VMS (Video Management System), to strengthen the management of safety blind spots at sites. DL E&C integrated the existing individual CCTV viewer systems to improve control efficiency, and linked the systems to the integrated smart safety control platform in order to intensively monitor high-risk works at all sites.

Previously, each site had different CCTV viewers, requiring multiple systems to be used separately, which was cumbersome. The different functions of each system caused operational confusion, and there were difficulties in enlarging and sharing screens.

Accordingly, DL E&C built an integrated VMS to improve control efficiency. The integrated system allows one viewer to see all sites at a glance. All video data is integrated into one system, enabling quick search and share of footage for specific areas and times. The displays in the integrated control room have also been replaced, which can transmit about 200 screens at the same time and freely zoom in to various sizes.

DL E&C has been developing and introducing an integrated safety control platform that links various smart safety devices, including safety management, work instructions and access control, since September of this year. The newly developed CCTV control VMS is also linked to the integrated platform, which allows the monitoring staffs to check high-risk work areas and workers’ locations in real time, and monitor them intensively.

In addition, hiring of CCTV monitoring staffs is being expanded. To expand employment of the disabled and prevent on-site safety accidents, DL E&C is hiring CCTV monitoring staffs in cooperation with KEAD (Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities) this year. The hired disabled persons monitor safety deficiencies at the site in real time via CCTV from their homes and report any unusual occurrences to the head office’s integrated control center. Currently, 26 monitoring staffs are working and additional recruitment is in progress.

An official from DL E&C said, “We are carrying out various improvement activities this year, such as operating CCTV monitoring staffs, and building an integrated VMS, to minimize blind spots at site. We will expand the hiring of monitoring staffs to continuously improve out CCTV control system and to do our utmost for preventing safety accidents.”
