DL E&C is installing a key equipment ‘Loop Reactor’
at the site of the petrochemical plant in Texas.

- Mobilized a 1350-ton crane to lift and install ‘Loop Reactor’ safely.
- DL E&C’s first petrochemical plant project in USA – approximately 55.5% of progress rate

DL E&C announced on the 6th that it has installed a key equipment, ‘Loop Reactor’, at the site of ‘Golden Triangle Polymers Project (GTTP)’ located in Orange County, Texas, USA.

‘Loop Reactor’ is a circular reactor that injects raw materials such as ethylene to polymerize them into polymers. It is considered as a key equipment for the polyethylene production process.

DL E&C mobilized a 1,350-ton main crane and a 750-ton auxiliary crane to safely lift and install ‘Loop Reactor’.

DL E&C is installing a total of 18 plant modules weighing 4,264 tons, including ‘Loop Reactor’ which were transported from Vietnam.

Meanwhile, GTTP is a project commissioned by the Golden Triangle Polymers, a joint venture between US-based Chevron Phillips Chemical and Qatar Energy. This project will build a high-density polyethylene plant with a capacity of 2 million tons per year, and is scheduled to be completed in 2026.

It is DL E&C’s petrochemical plant project in the U.S. It was awarded in July 2022 and started construction in February last year. The project is being carried out jointly with a US construction company, Zachry Industrial. The current progress rate is about 55.5%.
