DL E&C announced on the 2nd that it has been conducting volunteer activity of ‘baking bread of love’, in which its employees personally participate, to consistently share warmth with the underprivileged.
DL E&C has been conducting the volunteer activity of ‘Baking Bread of Love’ every month since 2014, in partnership with ‘Bread Mansa’, a volunteer group in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
With the help of ‘Bread Mansa’, employees, who applied in advance to participate in volunteer activity, take part in the entire process of baking bread, from kneading flour to adding ingredients, baking bread and packaging.
The bread made with the hands of various employees from mangers to deputy managers, assistant managers and staffs, is delivered to the underprivileged community members, including the elderly living alone, the homeless and North Korean refugees.
Kwon Hyun-Joo, an employee of DL E&C, who participated in the bread-baking volunteer activity last month, said, “I realized that it takes a lot of effort from many people to bake even a small piece of bread.” and added, “Although my skills are insufficient, I felt a great sense of pride that I was able to share bread with those in need.”

DL E&C is carrying out various social contribution activities in which its employees directly participate, including bread baking, support for the production of Braille books for the visually impaired, repairs of Habitat housing, ecological cleanup, and reduction in carbon footprint. These activities are intended to help employees directly understand the importance of coexistence with the local community and encourage their participation.
An official from DL E&C said, “We have been consistently carrying out social contribution activities in which our employees directly participate, in order to coexist with the local community and to take the lead in ESG management. We will work harder and continue to carry out local community-focused sharing volunteer activities and environmental cleanup activities in order to fulfill our corporate social responsibility.”
