DL E&C announced on the 3rd that it will hold an open innovation contest in collaboration with the Seoul Business Agency, an SME support agency under Seoul Metropolitan Government. This contest is an open innovation program designed to discover startups with innovative technologies and business ideas.
Through this contest, DL E&C plans to discover new technologies and new business ideas that can be applied to construction sites and business areas, and to maximize synergies with its existing businesses. Application forms will be accepted via the StartupPlus website from June 3 to June 30, and there are 4 fields covering the smart construction technology, carbon neutral technology, eco-friendly energy technology and innovative ideas for the construction industry.
DL E&C will select promising startups through written and face-to-face screening, and conduct technology verification for applying new technologies and new business projects in the actual field with these companies. Additionally, attracting subsidy from the Seoul Business Agency will allow the Company to provide the commercialization support of KRW10 million to each startup, and to review direct investment for collaboration such as continuous development of innovative technologies. Last year, 4 startups were selected and verification of their technologies was conducted at DL E&C’s sites, and then joint research on technologies was implemented for the final one.
