DL E&C Unveils D. Virtual, Korea’s First Real-Time Housing Visualization Solution
DL E&C’s diverse options embodied in a 99㎡ (exclusively used area) unit of
e-Pyunhan Sesang Okjeong Leaders Garden through D. Virtual
DL E&C said on the 22nd that it unveiled D. Virtual, a real-time housing visualization solution through which housing option products can be installed and immediately viewed in virtual space for the first time ever in the construction industry.
It was difficult for housing buyers to check their options except option products prepared in a model house. Due to the increasing consumer interest in interiors and the emergence of diverse option products, consumers’ difficulty in selecting has deepened.
To solve the problem, DL E&C’s D. Virtual enables immediately combining and embodying over 30 options and structural change in the virtual space. Through this, customers can experience the interior views of an apartment to which their desired options are applied prior to moving in. DL E&C showcased D. Virtual for the first time ever at the model house of e-Pyunhan Sesang Okjeong Leaders Garden in Yangju City, Gyeonggi-do, which opened on the 21st.
In the model house additional selection items event, customers can install a middle door at the porch or change the shoe cabinet into an open cabinet by being immersed in the virtual space. They can change the “wall ceiling design” in the living room or place a kitchen island table. They can also select laminated floor for bedroom floor or built-in wardrobe. There are more than 30 selected option products, and customers can make over 1 million combinations according to their preference.
DL E&C made all finishing materials digitalized using the PBR (physically based rendering) technology used for movie or game production. The technology involves expressing texture and surface based on the physical principle of reality to portray objects more realistically. The company plans to use metaverse solutions in all phases including construction and quality control as well as sales by constructing Digital Twin through which real objects or systems are actualized in virtual spaces.
“DL E&C developed a unique housing visualization solution by which real-time customization is possible in virtual reality beyond the existing static construction CG through state-of-the-art real- time rendering technology for the first time ever in Korea. We will continuously make efforts to offer a new level of experience as well as advanced customer service to consumers by transcending the temporal and spatial restrictions of the model house,” DL E&C’s Choi Young-rak said.
