The Westcoast Line Hongseong-Songsan Subway Section 8 site held a Sinwang Tunnel Penetration Ceremony on January 30. The project kicked off in July 2016, and the 1,899m Sinwang Tunnel was penetrated 560 days after construction commencement. 
Boring work for blasting
At the construction site, an 8.48km railway subbase is being built including 6 bridges (2,520m) and 2 tunnels (3,049m) from Cheongbuk-myeon, Pyeongtaek-si to Hyangnam-eup, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Currently, the progress rate is 35%, and the project is slated to be completed in December 2020.
