The project involves removing the 2,640,000㎥ earth rock Todo, which has been an obstacle for large container ships’ voyage since it is located in the middle of the entrance to Busan New Port.

Application of the cofferdam method using foundation for the first time in Korea

Daelim plans to apply the cofferdam method using foundation (leaving the earth rock’s edge and using it as a stop gate; it will finally be destroyed after removing the internal earth rock) for the first time in Korea, including an OD (over burden) blast method in order to reduce ships’ damages. Construction is expected to take 33 months and is slated to be completed in April 2020.
