Saemangeum South-North Road Construction Kicks off; Groundbreaking Ceremony Held

The first-phase construction of Saemangeum South and North Road won by Daelim’s Civil Engineering Business Division kicked off. Some 2,000 people, including Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon, Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Minister Kim Hyun-mi, and Daelim’s Civil Engineering Business Division Vice President Yun Tae-sup, attended the groundbreaking ceremony held at Saemangeum Convention Center in Gunsan City, Jeonbuk on July 26.

Daelim’s Civil Engineering Business Division is in charge of section 3. 

 

The South-North Road passing through the center of Saemangeum is 26.7km long, and construction will be carried out in 2 phases. The first phase construction commenced this time involves building the 6 ~ 8-lane road 12.7km long connecting Haseo-myeon, Buan-gun with Oshik-dong, Gunsan City. The Civil Engineering Business Division, which is in charge of section 3, plans to build 1 bridge and 1 intersection in the 3km long section.
 


Unique bridge shaped like a reverse arch

In particular, the reverse arch shape will be applied to the main bridge for the first time in Korea; thus showcasing differentiated design. The construction duration is 1,825 days, and the project is slated to be completed in 2022.
