Daelim signed an agreement with Seoul City on August 12, 2015 to implement a private investment project for the Sillim Line Light Rail Transit construction. Seoul City and other project-related officials including Daelim CEO Kim Dong-su and Seoul City Mayor Park Won-soon attended the signing ceremony.
The project to build the Sillim Line Light Rail Transit covers 7.8km connecting Yeouido-dong and Sillim-dong and includes 11 stations and 1 railway vehicle base. The entire section will be built underground. Once the line is completed, it will only take about 16 minutes from Yeouido to Seoul National University, and transfer to the subway will be possible at the four stations.
According to the agreement, the Sillim Line Light Rail Transit will be propelled by a BTO mode generating revenue from the use fees for 30 years and will be built by Nam Seoul Light Rail Transit (NSLRT). The project cost is KRW 560 billion, half of which will be shouldered by NSLRT and the remaining half by Seoul City and Korean government. Daelim is participating in the project as the representative company of NSLRT, where 14 companies including Doosan E&C and Hanwha E&C have jointly invested.
