Daelim was awarded a contract to build the LG Science Park ordered by the LG Group. The total construction cost is KRW 678 billion, and Daelim Building Business Division’s stake is 50% or KRW 339 billion. The division succeeded in winning the project by applying optimized design aiming at constructing eco-friendly, energy-saving research facilities.

LG Science Park is a project of the LG Group to build cutting-edge R&D base to secure future source technologies. The park is to rise on a site of about 17,000㎡ – which is equivalent to 24 football stadiums – within Magok Industrial Complex in Gayang-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul. Total floor area is approximately 1,110,000㎡, and 18 R&D facility buildings will rise by 2020. About 25,000 R&D personnel of 10 affiliates of the LG Group including LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Innotek, LG Chem, LG Household & Health Care, and LG U+ will intensively research on convergence and fusion synergies in the park.

The project won by Daelim is one of the two projects that were ordered as the first-phase project. Daelim will construct 7 research facility buildings composed of 4 floors underground and 8 floors aboveground on a 65,954㎡ site. This project is slated to be commenced this month and completed in June 2017.
