Opening ceremony of KTX line connecting Incheon International Airport
The opening ceremony of the KTX railway to connect Incheon International Airport, which was constructed by Daelim, was held on June 30, 2014. Daelim Technical Expert Han Soo-gu, Incheon Mayor Yu Jeong-bok, and KORAIL President Choi Yeon-hye attended the opening ceremony. A total of KRW 296.8 billion (including VAT) was invested; the KTX line was commenced in June 2011 and was completed in about 3 years.
With the completion of the KTX line, people can go to Incheon International Airport directly. In the past, transferring from Seoul Station (KTX) to Airport railway to go the airport was very inconvenient. As for the construction details, new opening of the railway connecting the New Gyeongui Line and Airport Railway, improvement of the Airport Railway system and stations in line with the operation of KTX, and construction of the underground connection passage of Seoul Station were performed. To date, opening of the railways and improvement of system and stations have been finished.
KTX is coming to Incheon International Airport.
