Pocheon Combined Cycle Power Plant

Daelim’s first private-invested Pocheon Combined Cycle Power Plant Unit 1 started commercial operations in full swing on July 1, 2014. Unit 1 can generate 780MW electric power. Thus, if Unit 2 is completed in August 2014, a total of 1,560MW electric power will be produced. This can be used by about 500,000 households simultaneously and is forecast to contribute considerably to solving the power shortage in the Seoul Metropolitan Area this summer.

As a combined cycle power plant using LNG to produce electricity, the power plant was built on a 547,000㎡ site in Chudong-ri, Changsu-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do. Construction and test run took 2 years and 8 months following construction kick-off. Approx. KRW 1.23 trillion worth of private capital was invested. Actually, Daelim Group participated in the project as the major shareholder. Daelim Energy will be in charge of the operation of the plant.
