Daelim Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Brunei Sungai Kebun Bridge

The groundbreaking ceremony for Brunei’s Sungai Kebun Bridge, Daelim’s first overseas special bridge project, was held on January 16, 2014. Daelim Vice Chairman Lee Hae-wook and Daelim President Kim Dong-su, local site personnel, Brunei government officials on the client side, and joint contractors’ representatives attended the ceremony, which was organized by Brunei’s Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah through which Brunei showed its trust in and expectation for the project at the national level.

“We thank the Brunei government for giving us an opportunity to undertake the project, and we promise to do our very best for the successful completion of the project,” Daelim Vice Chairman Lee Hae-wook said in an interview with the local press, implying his intention to participate in many projects in Brunei in the future.

The total length of Sungai Kebun Bridge is 622m, and the main span length is 300m. The bridge is a concrete four-lane, cable-stayed bridge with one tower. As a single bridge, it is the largest one in Brunei and is slated to be completed in 36 months.
