Daelim’s Lee Sun-Shin Bridge Wins Grand Prize in Civil Engineering Technology Awards

The Lee Sun-Shin Bridge built by Daelim won the Grand Prize in the 9th Civil Engineering Technology Awards jointly held by the Architectural Institute of Korea, Korea Society of Civil Engineers, and Maeil Business Newspaper on November 25, 2013. The bridge was unanimously named Grand Prize winner by judges following the assessment of technological capability, construction difficulty, and contribution to local and national economies.

As the fourth longest suspension bridge in the world, the Lee Sun-shin Bridge has the world’s highest concrete tower. It is a landmark bridge completed with pure domestic technologies from equipment and materials to technology and engineers. “We will compete with the world’s topnotch bridge builders fair and square based on our own technological prowess acquired by building the Korean version of the Lee Sun-Shin suspension bridge,” said Daelim Civil Engineering Division Manager Kim Dong-su, who received the prize during the ceremony.
