 Tongyeong International Music Hall  Completed

Daelim announced on July 8, 2013 that it has successfully completed the construction of Tongyeong International Music Hall, the first-ever classical music hall built in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions. Located in Tongyeong City, the center of culture and arts in the southern coast of Korea, the music hall takes pride in its appearance with seagull, Tongyeong City’s symbolic bird, as motif. Against the backdrop of Tongyeong coastal waters, the music hall shaped like two seagulls flying into the sky and the hub of Hallyeo Sudo will emerge as a leading regional tourism resource. 

The Tongyeong International Music Hall is a project implemented by Tongyeong City to develop Asia’s major music festival, Tongyeong International Music Concert, and Yun I-Sang’s International Music Contest as the world’s top-tier music festivals. The city is expected to grow as a stronghold city leading culture and arts through this project and to contribute to solving the regional alienation problem in culture and improving the competitiveness of local culture.

The music hall is located at 1 Donam-dong, Tongyeong-si, Gyeongnam. Standing on a 33,058㎡ site, the music hall has total floor area of 14,618㎡ and 5 floors aboveground. This is the fourth largest classical music performance arena in Korea. The music hall consists of performance supporting, business, and educational facilities, 1,300-seater concert hall, and 300-seater multi-purpose hall. Construction of the music hall commenced in March 2010, and it is scheduled to open formally in October 2013.
