Daelim to Enter Laos’s Water Environment Market for the First Time in Korea

Daelim will enter Laos’s water environment market together with the Ministry of Environment and Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute. Daelim and Korean government officials signed an MOU on the Korea-Laos Environmental Cooperation for Laos waterworks and sewage improvement planning project with the Laos government in Vientiane, the capital of Laos; a launch reporting meeting was held on May 15, 2013.

Daelim will establish a master plan to expand the waterworks and sewage facilities in five regions including Muang Xai, Thakhek, and Parksan in Laos; it plans to undertake consulting regarding the future policy direction.

Implemented with the support of the Korean government, the project is a program for promoting Korean companies’ entry into foreign markets through master plan establishment support for cooperation-targeted countries’ environmental improvement and search for mutual environmental collaboration projects. Promising projects identified through this project are slated to be implemented by the Laos government using Korea’s Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF). In the future, Daelim is expected to win additional projects.
